It can be a struggle to plan activities for a trip to Florida, not because there’s nothing to do, but simply because there is such a plethora of activities available that trying to decide what to do and where to go can be an overwhelming experience. Florida is an ideal place to visit year round, since it’s the second hottest state in the United States and the weather is usually mild and sunny.

Whether on a family vacation, or a trip with friends, Florida has an exciting array of activities on offer, and you’ll soon find that one visit won’t be enough.

Where should you go?

Families will want to head to Orlando, where the amusement parks are hard to beat. Walt Disney World is here, and with so many different parks including Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and the two water parks Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, there really is something for everyone.

For the slightly older kids (and the kids at heart), Universal Studios is a must visit. There are two main parks, Universal Studios and Universal’s Island of Adventure. Harry Potter lovers will definitely want to check out the Island of Adventure, where they can visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Adventurous types should check out the Everglades Safari Park, where you can take a ride on an airboat and spot some alligators. The Everglades are teeming with wildlife, and you’ll see hundreds of different bird species, while learning tons of interesting facts about the alligators.  There are many different walking trails here, and the wildlife shows are spectacular. If you’re lucky you may even get to take a photo with Snappy, the resident baby alligator.

The nightlife in Miami is some of the best in the United States, and you’ll want to make the most of the party atmosphere in South Beach. Make friends with a promoter or get on the guest list and you’ll likely be able to skip most of the lines, but you’ll generally need to be there between 10.30 and 11pm.

Finally, those who are in the mood for a more relaxed vacation should look at Key West. This is the most southern point of the mainland United States and the sunsets here are simply breath taking.Key West Sand Castle Florida

A popular spot for cruise ships, Key West is more of a laid-back spot than Miami or Orlando. Adrenalin junkies may want to try parasailing here, which is also a great way to get a bird’s-eye view of Key West. Seafood lovers will also be in luck here, with fresh, delicious seafood on offer throughout the year.

If you’re trying to decide where to go for your next vacation then consider Florida. It’s easily accessible, with great weather year round, and with so many fun activities available, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
