Craig, a couple of reasons include movie makers avoiding patent issues for using the technology, more consistent sunlight, and a longer shooting season (no winter!)

I took the tour in May at it was great. Probably my favorite part was the tour of the Near South Side and Chinatown…I had never really been to that part of the city and enjoyed seeing the sights and the locations of some really big films that were shot in that area.
